To start off, I would like to say thank you to each one of you who purchased a copy of the very first issue of SEAM Magazine. Your support is greatly appreciated. I would also like to thank our Publisher, Ben Yosef, for giving me the opportunity to not only be a featured writer, but also Editor-in-Chief. It is such an honor to have such a big role in making this magazine come to life.
I have had a love of all things beauty since I was about 15 years old. In high school, dances and being able do all my friend’s hair and makeup was one of my favorite things! And, if I’m being honest, my favorite part of school overall! I mean school dances count as a school activity, right?
In college, I could typically be found in the lounge area braiding someone’s hair or glamming a friend up for their first date. Before making the decision to go to Cosmetology School, I learned that the main thing I love doing is makeup. I only lasted a year at a regular college, most likely because my focus and passion was obviously elsewhere.
After spending a summer working freelance down in Los Angeles, I went back to my hometown of Chico, CA and got a job as a makeup artist and Browtician (eyebrow specialist). I love what I do, and I am so excited to be able to share a part of that with all of you!
Making women feel beautiful and confident has always been my number one reason for getting into the beauty industry. After all, who doesn’t feel a little more confident when their hair and makeup is on point?
So, please enjoy our very first issue filled with some amazing beauty tips and stories. Everything from fashion tips to book recommendations to finding your new eyebrow shape. SEAM is all about beauty and confidence. Enjoy! – Annie
